1. In what ways do the dead speak to the living in this book?

   Through the Mirror or Erisaid in book one. They don't really speak but they exist in the mirror. They also communicate when the wands connect. Harry sees the ghosts of his parents. At the end of book 7 when Harry is walking to his death, he is surrounded by his parents and their friends. The portraits also communicate with people. So in a way the dead live on forever in their pictures. Harry also has a conversation with Dumbledore at the end of the book in his head. The dead communicate in many ways.
